Our students have been diving into the fascinating world of eggs — one of the most versatile ingredients in the kitchen! 🥚
We’ve been learning about the different properties of eggs, including how they cook, change form, and play important roles in a variety of recipes. From binding and thickening to leavening and emulsifying, the humble egg truly does it all!
To see these properties in action, students rolled up their sleeves and whipped up some tasty treats:
🍳 Scrambled eggs – discovering how heat transforms liquid into solid.
🍪 Cookies – exploring how eggs help bind ingredients together.
🧇 Pink waffles – adding color and learning how eggs give structure and fluffiness.
🧁 Cupcakes – observing how eggs help batter rise and create a light texture.
Through these hands-on lessons, our students aren’t just cooking — they’re doing science you can eat!
Next up, we’ll put our egg knowledge to the test with the big “Egg Drop Project” — using what we’ve learned about the properties of eggs (and maybe a little creativity!) to design a way to keep one safe from a fall.
Stay tuned for more egg-citing updates from our classroom! e look forward to the energy, talent, and fresh perspectives they bring to our classrooms. Please join us in giving them a warm welcome!
